Tomy’s Screwball Scramble; a game I remember fondly from my youth (and now lives in the cupboard) was released way back in 1979. I wanted to revive this piece of nostalgia, approaching this project from the perspective of taking something old and plastic, and creating an aesthetic that is more akin to an executive toy or even some form of kinetic sculpture, introducing polished copper, wood and glass.
This project came early on in my journey of learning Blender, but I learned A LOT along the way. This was the first time I’d looked at rigid-body physics simulation, which was a head scratcher, but is amazing when it works as intended. I was also trying to improve my sound design skills, recording items from around the house to capture the nuances of the animation.
