Bot 1.0

There are a couple of things I’ve wanted to learn and make for a while now and I have finally done just that. The first thing was learning a little more about rigging in Blender and what I wanted to make with everything I’d learned is a camera bot, inspired by the series of Bolt motion control robots from Mark Roberts Motion Control.

The setup is by no means perfect, but with some relatively simple rigging and a few different constraints modifiers, I was able to create a motion control camera robot that functions pretty well.

As an initial test of my camera bot, I revived the Sonic project and used the existing camera to drive the movement (location and rotation) of the robot arm. I’d used a simple null object to move the base of the camera bot around a circular track at a linear speed.
