Tenpin Bowling

My projects are often derived from something I loved as a kid, and bowling is certainly one of them. I still love bowling now and I’m fortunate to have a local bowling alley that hasn’t updated since the 90s. This may seem like a bad thing, but it’s like combining my past and my present together, so I’m very happy with that.

This was a fun little project to put together, as it was an opportunity to play around with physics simulation again. Also, unless you are a very talented professional, you never know exactly what you’re going to get when the ball hits the pins…if you manage to hit them at all. The physics simulation in this project was much the same…so I kept altering the launch until I genuinely hit a couple of strikes.

This was also the first time I’d looked at very basic rigging for the sweep wagon to clear the pins away.
