Retro Bedroom

I’m always looking for an excuse to reuse props and create a nostalgic scene, and this project did just that; paying tribute to a couple of my favourite childhood games; Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) and Streets of Rage 2 (1992). Actually, I still love playing SOR2 - It still hits all the right notes.

A good chunk of this project used existing assets from other projects I’d put together, including the TV, Vectrex, Mega Drive and the Atari controller, with a few new props being made to add some more life to the room.

The lava lamp was a quick addition towards the end of the project, but I’m pretty happy with it and how it adds a cosy tone to the room. I also wanted to experiment with different times of day and change around a few details to show that it’s a space that is lived in and used.

On the whole, these were pretty quick renders to put together, but I love how they’ve turned out.
